Kangeiko (寒稽古) 2026 – Winter Training Week
Kangeiko is a traditional winter training week practiced in Shotokan Karate to build discipline, spirit, and perseverance through consistent daily training. We proudly hold Kangeiko every year for one full week at both ISKF dojos.
Kangeiko 2026 will take place during one of the first weeks of February 2 to 6 - 2026
Training will be held at Sakura Karate-Do Club Dojo and Shotokan Karate Club

KANGEIKO 2024: February 26 to March 01 (Red Deer)
Kangeiko is a traditional Japanese martial arts term meaning winter training. The purpose of Kangeiko is to begin the New Year with a personal challenge, renew the spirit and set a tone of excellence for the entire year.
Kangeiko will run this year from Monday, February 26 thru till Friday, March 1 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday will be outside training from 6-7 pm, so dress for outside in the snow)
The last day of training all the students will receive a T-Shirt with the Kangeiko. 2024 logo.
We encourage all ages and belt levels to attend. All this training will go towards attendance for grading and Provincial Tournament which is on March 9th.
Monday and Wednesday training will be held at Sakura dojo at #2 McVicar St. (First Church of Nazarene) from 6-7:30 Pm
Tuesday 6-7:30 pm, Thursday 6-7 pm (outside training) and Friday 6-7:30 pm will be at the Shotokan Karate Club of Red Deer Dojo Located at E-6 5560-45 St.
